Concerto has created a new interface for elements of both the projects and asset solution for use on mobile phones, such as IPhones or Android mobiles. The new interface will allow users of elements of both solutions the ability to make changes to key elements of the data.

The mobile interface will enable Concerto users much better access to the system, even on the move. As with the main system the user will need access to the internet to be able to use the mobile module.
Functionality includes the ability to access and update project activities, view and update helpdesk calls, record time via the mobile timesheet application. Access to individual activities and tasks is also available through the new modules.

We have completed a new installation set for the Concerto Office Plugins, now offering full support in the 32 bit versions of Microsoft Office 2010.

We are also working on a port to the 64 bit versions of Office 2010, though to the best of our knowledge we have no clients who have deployed this version, but we just like to keep ahead of the curve!

The new installations can be downloaded from our Support Portal Library for existing license holders.

With the proliferation of 64 bit Windows Desktop Operating Systems Concerto have been keen to provide a 64 bit version of our NeSiE ‘plugin’.

This has now been completed and is available with version 1.3 of the Concerto plugins.

For those people who do not know, NeSiE stands for NameSpace Extension, it provides Windows Explorer  Shell integration with Concerto.

In layman's terms, this exposes Concerto like a hard drive on you operating system allowing simple cut, paste and copy file operations straight from your network or local PC to Concerto.

As more clients deploy Office 2010 we have had increasingly frequent requests to provide compatible Concerto Office Plugins.

We have targeted the Outlook 2010 plugin first, as it is the most widely used and we are pleased to say that the process was more painless than we initially feared.

The development is complete and we are now in the testing phase. Another announcement will be made when a release candidate is available.

The plugin’s will have both 32 bit and 64 bit version to support the Office 2010 x86 and x64 releases.

Version 1.1 of TrackIt.Mobile us now available.

TrackIt.Mobile is our barcode compatible equipment tracking and servicing application for the Windows Mobile platform.

A release candidate for our suite of Office Plugins is available for download from our support library.

We can confirm it is backwardly compatible with the current release build of the web application, however to make the most of the new document commenting features and workflow, user will have to wait for the formal release of the document management enhancements due within the next month.

The downloads include release notes and updated guide.

Further information regarding enhancements to the web application will be available shortly.

We are currently in the testing phase for version 1.2 of the P2 (Concerto) Plugins.  Formal release notes will be distributed with the release.

An update of P2 will also be required to deliver full functionality. The release notes and a formal announcement will confirm the full compatibility status.

The main enhancement is management of template documents, only previously possible from within P2 itself.

For those who arn't familiar with our products, the Concerto plugins are a suite of software available for P2 providing Microsoft Office integration with the Concerto Document Management System integrated into Concerto Sites and Projects. It works seamlessly with P2 via a web service meaning there are no special network requirements.

Along side the Microsoft Office plugins are 2 applications which work independently from Microsoft Office but allow the same integration with P2.

Currently new releases of our P2 “value added” software add-ons are posted on the Support Portal’s login page. Though this will continue, new releases will also be posted here.

This will enable our clients to use this blog’s RSS facilities to be notified automatically via their RSS readers when updates are available.

The detailed release notes will be part of the new installation package. Though we will do our best to provide a short and useful summary here as well.
