Analyse Research Findings Efficiently Using Web Based Project Management

clock March 22, 2012 15:20 by author Hannah |

Web based project management software helps extensively in culmination of a specific task that requires organised predefined start and an organised closure. Every project is initiated with a particular goal and an objective. This includes primarily the data that is researched so as to look organised and so that the haphazard collection seems like a disciplined one. Now, researching for the data as well as planning the appropriate use of available resources is highly essential. These are to be projected in the right direction so as to achieve ultimate success in the progression of the task. Web based project management software makes these tasks a lot easier for the researchers to handle.

Web based project management software helps in the processing of brainstorming, draws an error-free critical path analysis of flow charts and also contributes in plotting the graphs so as to evaluate all the possible risks. Manual set up and processing of the project might be very hectic and hence, web-based management systems prove to be of worthwhile help.

Web-based management systems help in the formation of all the required information. To cut short all the processed results for the researcher who is then able to select from the variety of data he/she might have in hand. It is via such systems that all projects are devoid of any error and are loaded with clarity. The reason behind this is that such systems help in the assortment of the most preferred information.

Also, if you want to see the successful completion of the project, web-based management software help on the processing of project specification document. This file helps in the approved information that has been laid out by the researcher and the client is satisfied with the content.

When it comes to the documentation of any project management, web-based project management software helps extensively in the framing of available references and the actual figures in relation to the estimated timeframe and cost.

Performance metrics too are evaluated and are an essential part of the completion of any project. Hence, via web based project management systems, management team is able to research a complete list of tasks that need to be focused on diligently. This helps in the formulation of corrective measures that can be of immense help in the long run. This means that web-based project management systems help in the supervision of every work that is being done and is contributing to the culmination of the project, and all teams are able to access the information as to whether it is error-free or needs any rectification.

Also, many a times, other team members contributing to the task need to be checked and re-checked as well. Web based management software help in this process of checking and evaluating the content that should be framed into the project.

Lastly, the content that is part of any research needs to be evaluated on corrective measures and web based management software helps the management team in doing so. It makes sure that the research has been appropriate, up to the mark, and all the required tasks are check listed without being overlooked at.

ISO 9001 and 14001 in the Bag for Another Year

clock August 10, 2011 15:59 by author Graham |

Tuesday 9th of August saw our yearly external ISO Audit completed by ISOQAR for the 9001 and 14001 standards registration.

I am pleased to report that the 9001 was passed without a single observation or non-conformance.

On the environmental standard, 14001, there was a minor non-conformance, suffice to say, it was an internal issue involving a fire extinguisher!  We of-course maintain our ISO registration for both standards and are now using Concerto Assets to monitor our own internal equipment!

Thanks again must go to our consultant Steve Burns for all his help and advice this year.

ISO 14001 and 9001 Implementation as a Software House - Article 1

clock June 18, 2011 22:59 by author Graham |

This is the first article in a short series over the coming weeks.

The Road is Long... Isn't It?

As many of our clients will know, Concerto Support achieved ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 in February 2010 . When the management team initially floated the idea of achieving the standard there was a collective heavy in take of breath, not least from this post's author.

Having previously experienced  formal processes in my past life in the Biological Sciences, I had my reservations, particularly concerning the potential for compromising the companies responsiveness to changes in our client's needs.  We pride ourselves on nimbleness with respect to application development!

Talking to other ISO implementation victims did nothing to allay my fears. Tales of piles of dusty tomes stacked on groaning shelves were not uncommon.

So how did we proceed? Well we did what most lean, mean (and green!) companies do, we decided to get several ISO Consultants in and see what they had to say...

ISO 27001 Formal Commencement

clock June 15, 2011 21:27 by author Graham |

ISO 27001 is an information security management system (or ISMS).  It ensures a company has formal processes in place for governance of their information systems, covering everything from physical data security to capacity management and business continuity.

As a company, we take such considerations very seriously as they are vital to ensure we can deliver a stable and secure service to our clients.  Because of our existing commitment we feel we are well placed to achieve the standard.

After our very positive experience of achieving ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditation with our ISO consultant Steve Burns we have decided to achieve ISO 27001 accreditation within the next 6 months.

We will use Concerto Projects (known as P2 to our existing clients) to manage the process, both during implementation and to maintain the standard post accreditation.

Concerto Projects is a very important part of how we maintain our current standards and shortly I hope to provide an outline of how we employ it to maintain our standard.

ISO 9001 an Introduction by Our Consultant

clock May 26, 2011 23:30 by author Graham |

The following article was authored by our ISO consultant Steve Burns whom we are very grateful to for his continued help and support in maintaining our ISO accreditation…

ISO 9001 - What is it?

iso_logo4

ISO 9001 is the internationally recognised standard for the quality management of businesses. ISO stands for is the International Standard for Organization (unfortunately we are stuck with the American spelling).

It applies to the processes that create and control the products and services an organisation supplies, prescribing systematic control of activities to ensure customer expectations are met.

It is designed and intended to apply to virtually any product or service, made by any process anywhere in the world.
